Before your website, customers see your profile
In many searches, Google shows the map before any website. That is where people see your rating, photos, hours and phone number, and decide in seconds whether to call you or the business next door.
1. Create or claim the profile and verify it
Many businesses already have a profile Google created automatically and don't even know it. The first step is to claim it and complete verification, because without it nothing you edit will show.
2. Choose your categories carefully
The primary category is one of the factors that matters most. “Dental clinic” and “Dentist” look the same but show up for different searches. Use secondary categories too, to cover everything you do.
3. Fill in everything, properly
Services with descriptions, products, service area, hours, phone, WhatsApp, website and a description that says what you do and where, the way customers search for it. An incomplete profile loses to a complete one.
4. Real, up-to-date photos
Storefront, premises, team and finished work. Stock photos don't convince anyone, and profiles with regularly updated photos get more clicks and direction requests.
5. Reviews and posts every month
Ask every happy customer for a review and reply to all of them, including the negative ones, calmly and politely. Post news and offers on the profile. To Google, an active profile signals an active business.
